Puppy/Kitten Visits

Congratulations!  We are so excited for you, and can’t wait to meet your new puppy or kitten!  Thank you for trusting us to help get your newest family member off to a great start!

The first few months are incredibly important to the development and long-term health of your puppy or kitten. Their immune systems are not fully developed and can be at risk of contracting serious diseases until they’ve received a series of vaccinations. Frequent visits while in their puppy and kitten stage allows us to reward good behavior and expose them to Fear Free tactics while at the vet. Now let’s discuss parasite prevention and vaccines!

Parasites: Most puppies and kittens have some version of intestinal parasites, which can cause mild to moderate GI symptoms.  Do not worry!  This is perfectly normal and treatable, but it’s important to address the problem early.  Some of these parasites can also be transmitted from pets to humans, so early treatment is important to protect ALL of your family members!

Vaccines: Puppies will need a series of vaccines to protect them against rabies, parvovirus and distemper and kennel cough. Kittens will need a series of vaccines for protection against rabies, distemper, and feline leukemia. We also recommend an FIV/FELV test to ensure they do not have one of the main viral diseases of cats.

At your first visit with your new pet, our team will also provide you with information and support, from nutrition to basic training, so that your puppy or kitten can become a healthy, well mannered, and cherished companion!

We look forward to meeting your new bundle of joy, and to celebrating many Milestones with you and your newest family member!
